Direct ferry service connecting Singapore and Desaru Coast signals next stage of growth for destination.
Anantara Desaru Coast Residences, a boutique collection of 20 luxury seaside villas on Peninsular Malaysia’s pristine southeastern coastline, is ready to welcome the first group of owners into its exclusive residential community. With the opening of the Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal and commencement of a direct ferry service from and to Singapore, the milestone is timely and heralds the next phase of growth for Desaru Coast.
“While domestic demand has remained resilient during the pandemic period, the reopening of the Malaysia-Singapore border has also seen renewed interest from the Singapore market,” says Mr. Micah Tamthai, Chief Operating Officer, Lifestyle & Real Estate, Minor International. “Significant public- and private-sector investment has raised Desaru Coast’s profile as an international tourism and investment destination, and we are proud to be pioneering luxury hospitality and real estate in this integrated development.”
The new Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal can process 300 passengers at any given time, with a new-generation e-gate making immigration screening more efficient at peak times. Starting from 7 July, there will be a round trip direct ferry service connecting Singapore’s Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal from Thursday to Sunday, with an estimated travel time of 90 minutes each way. The launch complements the existing network of highways and Johor Bahru’s Senai International Airport, which connect Desaru Coast by road and air to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and other major centres.
Located in Johor Darul Ta’zim along a pristine 17-kilometre coastline facing the South China Sea, Desaru Coast currently hosts world-class hotels and resorts, championship golf courses, a family-friendly waterpark and a convention centre, with additional leisure and wellness amenities in the future master plan. Anantara Desaru Coast Residences comprises 20 three- and four-bedroom residences, each designed as a luxurious family-friendly sanctuary, with a serene private infinity-edged pool as the focal point.
“In addition to investment returns, a home in Desaru Coast offers an opportunity to live, work and play in the heart of one of the region’s last remaining pristine landscapes, in a vibrant destination that appeals to all the family,” said Mr. Tamthai. “With the majority of our beachfront units now either sold or reserved, we are bullish on the outlook for luxury real estate in Desaru Coast.”
Anantara Desaru Coast Residences’ beachfront villas offer direct access to Desaru Coast’s beautiful sandy beaches, while terrace villas boast elevated views of the South China Sea. Four-bedroom duplex villas, meanwhile, will suit large families and investment buyers alike. Each duplex villa features two master en-suite choices, separate entrances for ground and upper living spaces, as well as a private wellness room equipped with a treadmill and spa-grade massage bed – fully convertible into an office, home cinema or additional bedroom.
As a branded residential development, Anantara Desaru Coast Residences offers the comfort and permanence of home coupled with world-class management, maintenance and services provided by the five-star Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas. Owners and residents also enjoy full access to the resort’s multi-award-winning dining, spa and leisure facilities, as well as private, on-demand services from the resort’s chefs, butlers, sommeliers and wellness practitioners.
Ownership at Anantara Desaru Coast Residences starts at MYR 7.5 million. A private viewing can be arranged by contacting the team on +60 19 241 2296 or at propertysales@minor.com.
